01Who we are

Skarv is a video editing service operated by Nordkod Media AB (Sweden), “Nordkod”, “we” or “us”. These terms are an agreement between you and Nordkod. By creating an account or using Skarv you accept them. If you use Skarv for a company, you accept them for that company and confirm you may do so.

02Your account

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live. Give us a working email address and keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account.

One person may hold one free trial. Creating extra accounts to get more trial credits is not allowed.

03Your content and your rights

You keep every right you have in the footage, audio, images, documents and brand material you upload, and in the films Skarv makes from them. We claim no ownership.

You give Nordkod a limited, worldwide license to store, copy, process and transmit your content only as needed to run Skarv for you: to transcribe, edit, render and deliver your films, including through the processing providers listed in our privacy policy. The license ends when your content is deleted.

You must own your content or have permission to use it, including the consent of every person who appears or speaks in it and the rights to any music, logos or other material in it. You are responsible for what you publish with Skarv.

04Acceptable use

You agree to follow the acceptable use policy. In short: no content you have no rights to, no impersonation, no deception, nothing illegal. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break it.

05AI features

Skarv uses AI models to transcribe, plan and edit. Results can contain mistakes, such as a misheard word in a caption or a cut in the wrong place. Review every film before you publish it.

When an edit contains generated material (for example AI B-roll, an AI background or a generated image), Skarv tells you and labels the file. Keep that label when you publish where the law requires it. Details in AI and your content.

06Credits, plans and payment

Edits and add-ons are paid for with credits. Skarv shows the price in credits before a job runs, holds that amount while it works, charges what the job actually used (never more than the estimate) and returns held credits if a job fails. Prices are listed on the pricing page in US dollars, excluding VAT or sales tax.

Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; your plan then runs to the end of the period you paid for. Monthly plan credits roll over for one month, and your balance can hold up to twice your monthly credits. Top-up credits last 12 months. Free trial credits (80) expire after 14 days. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

07Refunds and the right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you may withdraw from a new paid plan or top-up within 14 days of buying it. Because Skarv starts working as soon as you use your credits, you ask us to begin right away when you start a job, and we will deduct the value of the credits you used from the refund. 08The service

We work to keep Skarv fast and available, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may change, add or remove features. If a change takes away something material you paid for, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel. Finished renders stay downloadable for at least 90 days on paid plans and 7 days on the free trial.

09Closing your account

You can close your account at any time in your settings; your projects and files are then deleted within 30 days. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, or that puts other users or Skarv at risk. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you a chance to download your films.

10Liability

Skarv is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Nordkod is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

11Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

12Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes are settled by the courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim there.
